MAYEM: Goa State Infrastructure and Development Corporation (GSIDC) Vice Chairperson Dr Pramod Sawant and members of Bicholim and Sanquelim BJP Mandal have come down heavily on former MP Adv Ramakant Khalap for reportedly making ‘baseless’ statement with regard to the proposed Mopa airport.
Addressing a press conference at Deendayal Bhavan Hall, Bicholim, Dr Sawant stated that by making such statements, Khalap is making one more bid to re-enter politics.
“Mopa airport will help create ample finance which will be utilized in the development process of entire Goa,” stated Dr Sawant.
“The State government plans to undertake the work of a project ‘Separators Great’ at Dabolim airport for better parking facility,” informed Dr Sawant.
Bicholim BJP Mandal President Adv Manohar Shirodkar said, “Khalap is detrimental to Goan politics and so far has not left any stone unturned to spoil or damage the political movement in Goa.”
“Commissioning of Mopa airport will give a boost to the tourism industry in entire Goa which has been severely affected due to mining ban,” said Shirodkar and added that tourism will flourish in the entire State as tourists will go in search of far off destinations in the State.
Meanwhile, Dr Sawant said the work of Calvim Bridge has been delayed due to the delay caused in land acquisition process. He however said that work is now progressing on a war footing and the bridge is almost complete.
He said the Ravindra Bhavan complex at Sanquelim is complete in almost every aspect ane would be inaugurated soon after the monsoon season.
