PANJIM: A day after seven high-risk COVID-19 persons were quarantined at Margao T B hospital, the number rose to 10 on Tuesday. Besides, 12 others have been quarantined at Goa Medical College, as per the daily bulletin released by Directorate of Health Services.
On Monday, DHS said that the government has identified seven high risk contacts of a COVID-19 patient – a Dharwad native who returned to his native from Australia via Dubai and Goa on March 12 and tested positive for the infection on March 22, 2020. They were kept in quarantine at the Margao hospital while 31 other-low risk passengers were put on home quarantine.
The updates on Tuesday said, “At present, 10 high risk contacts are at the hospital.” No further details were given. It further informed that 10 other passengers have been put under facility quarantine, 17 under home quarantine and 11 passengers were screened at Dabolim airport.
As on March 23, 13 samples have been sent for testing, the reports of which are awaited.
Goa has not recorded a single positive case of the infection so far, whilst strict precautions are maintained to ensure the State and people are safe.
