PANJIM: After the release of controversial Rafale audio involving Health Minister Vishwajit Rane, the Congress party on Sunday claimed to have more audio recordings of the BJP minister wherein he is heard making efforts to unseat Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, who is currently ailing with pancreatic cancer.
Last week, Congress leaders in Delhi had released audio tape in which Rane was allegedly heard telling an unidentified person that Parrikar, the former defence minister, has Rafale related files in his bedroom.
Addressing media persons, Congress spokesperson Adv Rohit Bras D Sa said, “There are telephonic conversations out there which would be released as I have heard them.”
“Apart from that (Rafale) telephonic conversation, there is another conversation that I have heard. There were attempts made to unseat the chief minister. I cannot disclose anything further,” he said while confirming that the Congress does not possess the audio.
The Congress leader said that Minister is well aware about what he is talking and that if he is courageous enough, he should come forward and admit it that he has spoken. “Those conversations will be also made public soon. I will wait for them to release those conversions in public domain,” he said.
When asked whether this is an attempt to blackmail Rane, D Sa said that the question of him blackmailing does not arise because he is neither part of the government nor a legislator.
“You blackmail somebody for your private or personal interest and I have nothing like that sort of with Rane,” he added.
Despite repeated attempts, the Health Minister was unavailable for the comments. Party president Vinay Tendulkar and General Secretary Sadanand Tanawade were also not available.
