Valpoi: As five of the family members of the health worker working at Vasco UHC tested positive for COVID-19, Morlle village in Sattari taluka went in a complete lockdown.
This was confirmed by village sarpanch Vidya Sawant. She said 42 throat samples were taken on Sunday and seven were taken on Monday by the health department and that the results are awaited. She added that the further course of action will be decided after that.
“People in our village have voluntarily lockdown themselves and the panchayat has assured them that we will provide them all essential commodities. We have sanitised our village where the positive patient had visited, we have also announced and requested to all that they use a mask and wash their hands frequently. Villages have also been told to inform the health department if anyone gets flu-like symptoms,” she added.
“The team from Health Department will visit our village on Tuesday and will have an advocacy programme for our villagers,” she added.
