VASCO: With the Lok Sabha election for South Goa scheduled on Tuesday, Mormugao Taluka appears set as arrangements such as tight police security, special wheel chairs for disabled persons, etc have been made to ensure free and fair polls.
A source in the Mamlatdar office informed that there are in all 132 polling booths in the taluka. “Each booth will have four polling officials, who will look after the voting process. There will be two policemen manning each booth. Total 264 policemen and an additional battalion of 132 policemen from Kerala will be deployed at various points,” the source added.
All the necessary arrangements such as drinking water and wheel chair facilities are in place at each polling station.
