VASCO: The Mormugao municipal council has asked all the vendors who had put up stalls during the Saptah fair to dismantle them.
The stalls were permitted along the Swatantra Path durfing the Saptah on August 22 and they have been asked to dismantle them by Monday midnight.
An order issued by the Mormugao Chief Officer JayantTari, has stated that zone wise teams have been directed to ensure that all the stalls that had been erected during the Saptah are dismantled from Monday from midnight onwards. The team incharge has also been asked to submit the compliance report to the chief officer thereafter. Any lapses towards dismantling of stalls will be viewed seriously, the order states.
In the past, the municipality used to grant extension to the stalls considering the events like Raksha Bandhan, which follows soon after the Saptah. The vendors were hoping extension as for the last two years Saptah was held on a subdued note due to Cobid-19 pandemic.
