Burglary of a similar modus operandi effected at Infant Jesus Academy School in Velsao

In a distressing turn of events, Infant Jesus Academy School in Velsao fell victim to burglary on Thursday morning, with the school’s donation box and cash from the office reported stolen. This incident marks the second burglary in Velsao this month, following a similar pattern of operation.

The school staff arrived at 7 am to open the gates, only to discover that all locks had been broken and the donation box was missing. Upon further inspection by the principal, it was evident that the burglars had ransacked the school’s office, rifling through drawers, files, and envelopes in search of cash. The stolen amount is estimated to be between 50,000 to 60,000 rupees.

This latest incident adds to a growing trend of burglaries in Velsao, with several other schools falling victim to the same modus operandi. Concerned about the safety of schools in the area, the principal urged the education department to enhance security measures and called upon law enforcement to swiftly apprehend the perpetrators.

In response to the incident, local police were contacted at 7:20 am, and the school was instructed not to allow anyone onto the premises until their arrival. However, due to the ongoing investigation, students were kept outside the campus until the police arrived at 9 am.

With the investigation underway, authorities are working diligently to gather evidence and identify those responsible for the burglary. The school community remains hopeful for a swift resolution to ensure the safety and security of educational institutions in the area.
