The Mormugao Port Trust Pensioners’ Association has served a formal notice to the Mormugao Port Authority, warning that pensioners and their families will stage a protest if their demands are not met within 30 days. The association has strongly opposed any proposal to shut down the Port Hospital, stating that the facility is crucial for retired employees and their dependents.
Among their key demands is the payment of arrears under the second formula or methodology before New Year 2026. They have also sought full reimbursement of medical expenses in line with a Supreme Court judgment, arguing that pensioners are legally entitled to these benefits.
The association cautioned that failure to address these issues within the given timeframe will result in a protest outside the MPA Administrative Office.
