Mormugao survey team kick-starts mapping

Physically measures 82 outlets that fall within 500 mts of highway

VASCO: In order to comply with the directions to submit the exact locations of liquor outlets in Mormugao Taluka, the taluka level survey team on Wednesday kick started its drive and physically measured 82 liquor outlets in Vasco city that were falling within 500 Meters of national highway in Vasco city.
According to the information the team commenced its drive from St Andrew’s Church Square in Vasco and covered almost all the parts of Vasco city. Mormugao Mamlatdar Satish Prabhu, Mormugao Excise Department Inspector Mukund Gauns, Assistant engineer PWD (NH roads) Vincent D’Souza, Maya Amonkar from city survey department, officials from Mormugao Mamlatdar, filed surveyors and others were present for the drive.  
“We had started physically verifying the location of each liquor shop, bar and restaurant from the highways on Wednesday and on first day we have identified 82 establishments in Vasco city area. Few more leftover outlets in Vasco city would be measured tomorrow. we are expecting that the survey would be completed within the time give to us and we would then submit our report to the core committee set up for monitoring the implementation of the apex court order and is headed by excise commissioner” he said
