Mormugao Taxi owners demand Goa Miles ban at cruise berth

Vasco:  Local tourist taxi operators from Mormugao Harbor port met Urban Development Milind Naik and demanded that Goa Miles app be not allowed at the cruise berth. They have further demanded that the Goa Miles counter at the MPT harbour be allotted to them instead.
Sources from Mormugao Port Trust Taxi Union (MPTTU) stated that on Wednesday morning, they had a meeting with the Minister, who is also the Mormugao MLA, at his official residence.
Reiterating their demands against Goa Miles, they pointed out that they are not getting enough business.
They further called on Naik to ensure that the earlier slip system to get a customer is made applicable again at the Harbour port, while demanding that the Goa Miles app should not be made applicable to that area.
Following the meeting, they expressed confidence that the Minister will be able to meet their demands and pointed that in the past, he had taken up with their issues with the government and the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.
