VASCO: A 9-candidate panel ‘Mormugao Warriors’ backed by GPCC vice-president Sankalp Amonkar was declared on Thursday. Amonkar said that it was formed with a clear motto to defeat candidates backed by UD minister Milind Naik in Mormugao municipal elections.

In the press meet he exudes his confidence on the panel and claimed that that his candidates will win against Naik’s in all nine wards.

When asked what prompted him to float a panel, he said that he floated his panel to bring clean politics with good candidates who are educated and working which will ensure politics of development in Mormugao constituency.

Former MMC chairperson and ward 2 candidates, Shekhar Khadapkar condemned the unjust reservation of wards calling it an ‘injustice’ done on the women from Mormugao constituency. Khadapkar claimed that he has been active in the field for two decades and was ex-chairperson of MMC which will also help him to gain votes.
