PANJIM: In a series of tweets about the works taken up in the country, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highway (MoRTH) Nitin Gadkari revealed that a total of eight projects had been sanctioned to Goa worth Rs 129 crore. The hashtag #PragatiKaHighway was used for the eight tweets about Goa.
“For Goa – Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has sanctioned eight projects of 39.7 kms worth Rs 128.66 crore for the State of Goa during 2020-21,” said Gadkari in his first tweet.
“Work of four-laning of existing two-lane section of Ribandar bypass of NH-748 (old NH-4A) in the State of Goa has been sanctioned (Reimbursement to the State government) with a Budget Rs 53.27 crore,” reads Gadkari’s second tweet.
The next two tweets were about the replacement of the existing two elastomeric bearings of the new Mandovi Bridge on NH-66 (old NH-17) across Mandovi Bridge at Panjim.
He revealed that Rs 11.45 crore and Rs 6.27 crore have been sanctioned for the same. His next two tweets were about the Mangalore-Panjim highway.
“Strengthening from kms 38/500 to kms 66/00 of Panjim — Mangalore section of NH-66 in the State of Goa has been sanctioned with a budget of Rs 34.33 crore. Strengthening from kms 30/00 to 31/600, 33/400, to kms 35/00 and kms 37/500 to kms 38/500 of Panjim — Mangalore section of NH-66 in the State of Goa has been sanctioned with a budget of Rs 10.47 crore,” read the tweets.
Further, he tweeted that Rs 6.75 crore had been sanctioned for the construction work of Orthophond Bridge, Margao Over Bridge and Mashem Bridge.
“Construction work of Bhatpal Bridge in the State of Goa has been sanctioned with a budget of Rs 1.92 crore. Rehabilitation of culverts on Karmal Ghat in the State of Goa has been sanctioned with a budget of Rs 4.2 crore,” read his final tweet.
