Mother convinced Dahl was killed

Alleges he was murdered by a man who also took possession of Felix’s computer after the murder; Says Canacona police picked the man up as a suspect but are protecting him

PANJIM: Minna Pirhonen, the mother of Felix Dahl, who died at Patnem, Canacona, in January 2015, said that she has identified the murderer of her son.
Speaking to Herald, Pirhonen said she is convinced that her son was murdered by his friend, a person who was picked up by Canacona Police as a suspect.
“He (murderer) is violent and has attacked other locals, recently his foreigner girlfriend and even a police driver. He was the only person chasing Felix the night he was killed. I am convinced now that he (name withheld) alone killed my son,” she said.
She alleged that the police are protecting the man and ignoring him as a suspect. Pirhonen claims that the person is a police informer and collaborator. “He tells the police when tourists have drugs so the police can arrest them,” she said.
Pirhonen said that Felix was giving the man money, but there was a problem and Felix’s visa card was stolen and he lacked cash before his death.
After Felix’s death, the man took Felix’s computer (worth 1800 euro) from the restaurant where it was kept as security for Felix’s bills, she added. “He kept the computer and used it. I am convinced that the computer was the reason for the killing,” Pirhonen said.
She further said that the second autopsy done in Finland showed that Felix had been poisoned by an overdose of antihistamine that affected his mental and physical abilities and made him an easy target.
Canacona Police, who had been investigating the murder case following a court direction, recently submitted a closure report. The investigating officer said there is no evidence to prove murder.
Meanwhile, the High Court of Bombay at Goa has said they will examine the closure report. The HC is hearing the application filed by Felix’s family seeking to transfer the case to CBI.
