Mould children into good human beings, exhorts Archbishop

MARGAO, APRIL 9 Archbishop Filipe Neri Ferrao has emphasized the need to provide quality of education to children at a tender age to mould them as good human beings in the true spirit of Christian values.

Archbishop Filipe Neri Ferrao has emphasized the need to provide quality of education to children at a tender age to mould them as good human beings in the true spirit of Christian values.
He was addressing students, parents, teachers and villagers at the inauguration of the primary school building of Mae Dos Pobres school, Nuvem on Friday evening.
Speaking on the occasion, the Archbishop said that education is the powerful instrument of development of human beings, adding that the Church is conscious of the need to reach out educational facilities to all sections of society.
He, however, stressed on the on the need to create the right environment and facilities to provide the right education to the children. Expressing satisfaction over the construction of the primary school building, the Archbishop complimented all those who have lent their assistance to see the school takes concrete shape. “All of you have deserves credit for joining hands to put up this beautiful school building”, the Archbishop.
Referring to the theme Call to Grow, Call to glow, the Archbishop said “we have been called to grow and glow. Imparting education is indeed very important, specially at the tender age, as the young minds gets the right direction of the future at that stage”.
Hoping that the young children get good education and help tap their talents, he stressed on the need to tap the potential in young children to make their great citizens of the country.
On the occasion, the Archbishop wished Loutolim MLA and Power Minister, Alexio Sequeira on his birthday on Saturday and wished him good health and success.
In his address, GPCC president Subhash Shirodkar said the people of Goa need the Power Minister to usher in the development of Nuvem or Loutolim, but for the better cause of Goa’s development. “We want Sequeira not only to build schools, four-lane road and underground cabling, but for the better cause of Goa”, Shirdokar added.
In his address, the Power Minister said it is the responsibility of the teacher to impart good and quality education for children. He urged the students to avail of the schemes and contribute to the well being of society.
The Manager of the school, Fr Alvaro Martins also spoke. The secretary to the Diocesan Society of Education, Fr Zeferino D’Souza, Acting Nuvem sarpanch Menino Mascarenhas were present. The school is being built under the GGSY scheme of the Rural Development Agency (RDA).
