MARGAO: Vijay Singh from Madhya Pradesh has been convicted and sentenced to three years of imprisonment by the Additional District and Sessions Judge, Margao, for his involvement in a prostitution racket.In addition to the prison sentence, the court imposed a fine of Rs 10,000. Should Singh fail to pay the fine, he will face an additional three months of
imprisonment
The conviction came under Section 5 of the Immoral Trafficking (Prevention) Act, with Singh also being found guilty under Sections 370(A)(2) of the IPC, and Sections 4, 5, and 7 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act. The case was brought to light following a raid by the Colva Police.
