In this case, the body of the deceased was found dumped behind the Konkan railway guest house near the Margao railway station on October 6, 2011 under mysterious circumstances. The private part of the deceased was found severed from the body while his face was smashed with a stone to destroy the identity.
During investigations carried out by then Margao police station in-charge, PI Santosh Desai it came to light that the deceased and the accused were known to each other and used to have drinks in a local bar and the murder took place over a brawl in a bar. PI Desai said that verification of the tenants forms had helped the police to crack the case since the brother of the deceased had identified the body.
