PANJIM: The Superintendent of Police, Crime Branch, has confirmed that the alleged serial killer arrested by the Madhya Pradesh police was not involved in any crimes in Goa. The accused, Shivprasad Dhurve, 18, had confessed to having worked in Goa. He was arrested for allegedly murdering four security guards in MP.

Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, SP Nidhin Valsan said that Dhurve had worked in a restaurant in the Calangute area from May 1 to 31, 2021. “As of now, he has done nothing here,” said Valsan.

Dhurve was arrested last Friday for allegedly killing four security guards in Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar district. Three killings happened within a span of 72 hours while the fourth was reported a few hours before Dhurve was arrested.   The MP police had speculated that he may have killed people in Goa as well.

Goa police also suspected his involvement in some unresolved cases that were reported during the period Dhurve stayed in Goa. However, the SP said that no team from Goa police has been sent to the Sagar district yet.
