MARGAO: Stating that the Constitution 127 (Amendment) Bill passed in Parliament has given the power to the State, Member of Parliament Francisco Sardinha on Friday urged the Government to include the Dhangar community in the Scheduled Tribes at the earliest.
Briefing the media persons at Margao he said let this Dhangar community enjoy the benefits of Scheduled Tribes, as they are socially, economically, and educationally backward.
“This government is lucky enough to decide upon the other backward class community. Recently the parliament had passed an Amendment Bill with regard to Constitution 127 and it has given powers to the States. And hence, the Goa government should include the Dhangar community in Scheduled Tribes, so that they enjoy the benefits”, Sardinha urged.
He demanded to solve all the pending cases of Tenancy and Mundakars. MP further demanded to demolish the illegal structures on the private properties.
