MPT reduces allowances to employees

VASCO: The Mormugao Port Trust (MPT) have reduced/ discontinued various allowances to its employees to overcome the “financial crises” in view of ban on handling coal and drastic reduction in handling iron ore cargo.

VASCO: The Mormugao Port Trust (MPT) have reduced/ discontinued various allowances to its employees to overcome the “financial crises” in view of ban on handling coal and drastic reduction in handling iron ore cargo.
As per circular issued by the financial advisor and chief accounts officer of MPT to its employees, on January 12, the MPT has deducted various allowances and also have discontinued various schemes to the workers.
The port administration has reduced the cafeteria allowance of the officers by 25 per cent, instead of 47 per cent of the basic pay. 
In another decision, the Port authorities have mentioned that the VDA/dearness relief payable to employees and pensioners will be paid at the VDA rates applicable for the month of December 2017.
