Multi-Crore Investment Fraud Unveiled in Srinagar; Raids by J&K Police Expose ‘Curative Survey’ Scheme Inspired by ‘Phir Hera Pheri’

The Jammu and Kashmir Police conducted raids at five locations in Srinagar as part of an investigation into a multi-crore investment fraud. The cyber wing of the police seized electronic gadgets and documents during the raids conducted on Saturday night. The fraudulent scheme, inspired by the Hindi film ‘Phir Hera Pheri,’ involved the establishment of a company named ‘Curative Survey’ in the Karan Nagar area. The fraudsters duped several individuals of at least Rs 59 crore, promising to double their investment within two weeks.

Initially delivering on their promise, the company gained more investors and received promotion from at least two local YouTubers, further boosting its popularity. However, the owners of the company vanished, and the Karan Nagar office was found locked. One of the YouTubers, Idris Mir, claimed he couldn’t be held responsible for the fraud, stating that he had featured the company on his channel as a paid promotion. The investigation is ongoing, and officials suggest that the total amount involved may increase as more details emerge.
