PANJIM: With an expected attendance of up to 60,000 people, the swearing-in ceremony of Dr Pramod Sawant government will have multi-layered security in place as top BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will attend the event on Monday.
A maximum number of Goa Police personnel have been deployed to ensure water-tight security in and around the venue, while six bullet-proof and jammer vehicles arrived in the State on Friday evening. The bullet-proof Land Cruiser and Toyota Fortuner that arrived via cargo from Delhi will be used by PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and other top leaders.
The swearing in of CM Sawant and members of his cabinet will be held at the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium at 11am on Monday, March 28. Regular briefings on the law and order, traffic, etc are being held at the venue for over a week to ensure a smooth conduct of the ceremony.
Besides the National leaders including Union ministers, State leaders and Goan MPs, seven chief ministers of BJP-ruled states, Goa election in-charge Devendra Fadnavis and desk in-charge C T Ravi will be in attendance.
Details of the arrival and departure of these leaders and the traffic arrangement are yet to be released by the concerned agencies.
