MARGAO: The structural design of the multi level car parking at Goa Airport at Dabolim is likely to be finalised by this month-end after a consistent follow up by the South Goa MP Narendra Sawaikar.
In a letter to the Goa MP Sawaikar, the Civil Aviation Minister Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju has informed that the matter was examined and a meeting was held in Goa on December 22, 2016.
The minister said the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) would grant the clearance for multi level car parking at Goa Airport after the recommendations of Defence Research & Development Organization (DRDO) are incorporated in multi level car parking.
AAI team discussed the matter with the Defence Research & Development Organization , Chandigarh and has suggested that the recommendations be revised considering the practical constraints in the existing multi level car parking project.
The minister in his letter had informed that AAI is in the process of appointing structural consultant for implementation of revised recommendations of Defence Research & Development Organization . AAI has informed that the structural design as recommended by Defence Research & Development Organization is likely to be finalised by March 31, 2017.
South Goa MP Narendra Sawaikar said that he has been consistently following the matter regarding Multi Level Car Parking at Goa Airport and expressed happiness over its finalisation.
The project had been held up due to the security concerns raised by the competent authority. However, now the project will finally be open with the intervention of Civil Aviation Minister.
