MAPUSA: Mapusa Police on Thursday arrested one Dilip Ratnani (60), native of Mumbai for allegedly possessing narcotic substance suspected to be ganja worth Rs 1.90 lakh.
According to the police, based on tip off, a team of Mapusa Police headed by Police Inspector Tushar Lotlikar along with PSI Ashish Porob, PSI Viraj Korgaonkar, Head Constables Sushant Chopdekar, Irshad Watangi and Constables Prakash Polekar and Akshay Patil conducted a raid between 12.30 and 2.30 pm near Gandhi Chowk, Mapusa and caught the alleged accused person red-handed in possession of narcotic drugs suspected to be ganja weighing 1.9 kilogrammes.
The police conducted panchanama and registered an offence under Section 20 (B)(II)(B) of NDPS Act and have paced the accused under arrest. The police are further investigating into the case.
