MARGAO: The Goa Municipal Employees Association has given a notice of strike any time after October 8 due to the pending demands of the municipal employees.
The notice has been sent to the Director of Municipal Administration and the Secretary Urban Development Ministry. The employees have placed their demands of filling up of vacant and lapse posts, filling and regularising of harness cases, and also demanded extension of MACP benefits and payment of grade pay and arrears to the employees.
The Association has also complained regarding Chief Officer of Margao Municipal Council Ajit Panchwadkar of being abusive, insulting and also behaving objectionably with the employees of the MMC.
The Association has given 14 days notice failing to which they have warned of proceeding on a one-day token strike.
