Murder accused who fled from Sada sub-jail nabbed after 13 years

VASCO:  Mormugao Police along with Bind Police nabbed Colva murder accused Rahul Ramprakash Sharma who had fled from Sada sub jail 13 years ago. 
It may be recalled that the Rahul was wanted in connection with the alleged murder of Pramod Soni from Rajasthan. Rahul allegedly stabbed Soni over a common love interest with the same girl. Soni later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital following which the Colva police registered a murder case in 2004. 
Rahul underwent a drastic physical change, but was identified and caught by the police based on the dark mole on his face.
DySP Sunita Sawant informed that during interrogation the accused revealed that after escaping from Sada jail, he visited his house and later chose to move in Delhi, Rajasthan and other places.
Sawant informed that on April 23, 2006, the four accused namely Rajaram Tulsiram More (Gujarat), Rahul Ramprakash Sharma (Bind-MP), Xavier D’Souza (Karwar) and Raju Monwel (Andhra Pradesh) escaped from the jail by cutting the ventilation grill of the mess. 
She mentioned that Sharma was serving his sentence for two years until April 23, 2006 when he escaped with three others.  “Now we will file chargesheet against the accused and trial in the murder case will resume” Sawant added.
Sawant appreciated the efforts of the Bind and Mormugao police teams headed by Police Inspector Ajit Powar and PSI Shridhar Kamat.
