CURCHOREM: Curchorem police on Tuesday obtained three-day remand for Francisco Costa (48) who was arrested by Curchorem police in connection with an attempt to murder case on Monday.
Costa, a resident of Zoriwada-Bethmoddi, Curchorem, was produced before Judicial Magistrate First Class, Quepem, who remanded the accused in police custody for three days.
Investigating Officer PSI Veronica Coutinho informed that the bamboo stick which was used to assault his 40 year-old wife has been recovered.
It may be recalled that Costa’s mother-in-law from Ambaulim-Quepem complaint to Curchorem police that her son-in-law assaulted his wife with bamboo stick over some family dispute causing her grievous head injuries.
The victim is presently undergoing treatment at Goa Medical College, Bambolim.
