MARGAO: Musical Warriors will hold its kantaram competition in the garden opposite the Panjim ferry wharf instead of the footpath outside Institute Menezes Braganza, where the government-sponsored Kantaram contest will be held.
In a press statement, Musical Warriors informed that Sudeep Dalvi, on behalf of the group, had sent a letter to the police regarding the change in venue.
“First of all, Musical Warriors would like to clarify that our letter to the police was not for permission, but just to inform about the event. If some unwanted incident occurs, we don’t want them to wash their hands off,” read the press note.
It further stated, “Our advocates have advised us that so long as we are performing in a public place and are not using any electronic equipment and causing an unwanted disturbance, we do not require permissions.”
Both competitions will be held on March 8.
