VALPOI: A 55-year-old singer and musician in a river at Brahmakarmali village on Monday.
The locals, who noticed the body of Bhimrao Ganpat Desai floating in the river, informed the Valpoi police station and the Fire Station, whose personnel rushed to the spot and fished out his body from water.
On postmortem it was confirmed Desai died of drowning. According to villagers Desai was a singer and a musician who had won the many prizes.
