BELGAUM: Unfazed by the Goa government’s decision to extend the ban on his radical outfit by six months, Sri Ram Sene (SRS) Supremo Pramod Mutalik on Tuesday stated that plans to launch his outfit in Goa have been finalized.
He denounced the Goa BJP government in Goa as ‘Anti-Hindutvavadi’ and challenged Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar to stop him from entering Goa.
Mutalik, who was in Belgaum, told Herald that SRS plans to stage a play in Marathi and Hindi in Goa to highlight the patriotic side of the outfit, in a bid to counter Tousif de Navelim’s tiatr ‘Akantvadi Goeant Naka’.
“I understand that Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar is planning to extend the ban on our organization for another six months. However, legally speaking no one can impose the ban for over 60 days. We have discussed the matter with our advocate in Mumbai and… (will) challenge it in the Mumbai High Court,” stated Mutalik. “Since there is no history of any law and order problem caused by us, I do not understand why Goa government is afraid of us.”
Let them first ban the activities of Popular Front of India (PFI) that has strong links with SIMI and is engaged in anti-nation activities.”
“Let them also ban the Nigerians who are involved in drug trafficking and crime, then think of banning us,” Mutalik said challenging Parsekar to stop him from entering Goa.
“I will come to Goa with an order from the High Court and then let me see how he (Parsekar) bans us from entering Goa,” he said, when asked to justify his inability to launch SRS in Goa despite frequent announcements in this regard since the last two years.
Expressing complete confidence in starting the SRS operations in Goa soon, he said the state organizing secretary Gangadhar Kulkarni is coordinating the launching of SRS in Goa.
When asked about the controversy raked last year over Tousif de Navelim’s tiatr ‘Akantvadi Goeant Naka’, Mutalik said a noted Marathi writer from Mumbai is penning a play that will be staged in Goa to counter the tiatr.
“To be staged in Marathi and Hindi, this play is aimed at projecting my patriotic image and also create awareness among the Hindus in Goa,” said Mutalik and reiterated his stand in launching SRS in Goa with full force.
