PANJIM: Transport Minister Ramakrishna alias Sudin Dhavalikar Wednesday claimed that his brother, the MGP president Deepak Dhavalikar, was misquoted by the media in his statement against the Digambar Kamat-led government. He also disclosed that he would take the decision of quitting the government only after January 26.
Deepak Dhavalikar who tendered his resignation from the chairmanship of Kadamba Transport Corporation (KTC) Tuesday, had termed the Digambar Kamat-led government as most corrupt while speaking to the media.
“He (Deepak) never said the Digambar Kamat-led government was most corrupt. My brother was misquoted by the media,” said Sudin Dhavalikar while speaking to this reporter.
“What he meant to say was that there are corrupt elements in every government. It’s for the government to see that those elements don’t go out of hand,” said Dhavalikar.
It’s a month since MGP and BJP are in talks of forming an alliance even though BJP claims that talks are proceeding in the positive direction.
MGP indications are that talks were stalled as BJP is not willing to fulfil their demands. The MGP has been demanding twelve seats including Savordem and Mandrem.
The MGP has also been demanding that Porvorim be given to them while many within the BJP are opposed to let go a constituency where the latter is known to have a stronghold.
