NABARD organises State credit seminar

PANJIM: National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) Goa Chapter organized a State credit seminar on December 16 in the presence of chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar.

 In his address, the chief minister congratulated NABARD for putting farmers’ income into perspective. 
The chief minister stated that Goa is rich in ecological diversity and pertain a lot of scope in Goa. “Cashew farming is common in Goa. Traditional ways of cashew farming is practiced by Goans since time immemorial. However, it is noticed that it does not give satisfactory yield, affecting the farmer’s profit. A planned way of cashew or any other crop is a need of an hour.” He said. 
The Chief Secretary expressed his desire to bring a Cashew Revolution in the state and urged NABARD to undertake a study to improve the quality of agriculture in the state.
