Nachinola financially sound

The Nachinola village panchayat, which is a part of Aldona constituency, comprises of seven wards, having a population of 3,240 people. 
In the 2012 elections, Govind Pundalik Govenkar, Deepali Deelip Madkaikar, Sanjana Sunil Kambli, Freddy Francisco Fernandes, Laxman Pandurang Kerkar, Kamalkant Babal Naik and Mahendranath Kashinath Gawas were elected as panchas.
In these five years, the panchayat witnessed three Sarpanchas. Freddy Francisco Fernandes was elected as Sarpanch for four months and was replaced by Laxman Pandurang Kerkar in 2015. 
In the same year, Govind Pundalik Govenkar took over as sarpanch.
Sanjana Sunil Naik was elected as Deputy Sarpanch and was later replaced by Deepali Deelip Madkaikar. The posts of sarpanch and deputy sarpanchas were shared between the members with mutual understanding.
The panchayat’s financial status according to the audit report is satisfactory as it generates revenue from taxes, fees, shop rent and panchayat hall. The collection of house tax for the last financial year was Rs 2.25 lakh and the outstanding due is Rs 3.86 lakh. The collection of professional tax was Rs 33,742 and the outstanding due is Rs 91,862. The collection of fees has been Rs 4.37 lakh. Besides this, the Panchayat received Rs 83,500 from panchayat hall in last financial year and Rs 1. 71 lakh from the rented shops in panchayat premises.
The panchayat committees such as garbage collection committee, child care committee, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan committee, supervising committee, village development committee, village health & sanitation committee & ward development committee are active.
The panchayat has its door-to-door dry garbage collection in place. It has employed a driver and a labourer who collect waste twice a month. The garbage is later disposed off at Saligao treatment plant.
The Panchayat received Rs 7.78 lakh under GIA scheme, Rs 2.75 lakh under 14th Finance Commission, Rs 1 lakh under garbage scheme and administrative Rs 4.45 lakh. Rs 8.17 lakh has been utilised for repair and construction of roads and gutters in the village.
The panchayat has been regular in holding gram sabhas and special gram sabhas. The attendance at these sabha is 80-100 people and garbage and mobile tower were the main issues discussed at these meetings.
