PANJIM: After the removal of former Advocate General Dattaprasad Lawande, it is now the turn of Adv Atmaram Nadkarni to be relieved of duties.
The State Cabinet on Friday decided to withdraw the earlier cabinet decision of allowing Nadkarni to represent the State in the Supreme Court and in the National Green Tribunal.
The Cabinet note states, “The council of ministers resolved to approve the proposal for withdrawing the cabinet decision taken in Cabinet meeting on 28/12/2017 regarding Atmaram N S Nadkarni to appear as senior advocate in all matters before the Supreme Court of India, National Green Tribunal, New Delhi and any other Tribunals wherein the government of Goa is a party along with fees and other entitlements with immediate effect.”
It further says that,
“Accordingly, the existing and future cases will be assigned to advocates by the chief minister/advocate general on a case-to-case basis. The decision has been approved by minister for law.”
The Cabinet also resolved to bring on par the pay scale of the head constable (armed police) with head constables Goa Police. “The council of ministers resolved to revise the pay scale of head constables (armed police) from PB-I Rs 5200-20200+GP Rs 2000/- to PB-I Rs 5200-20200+GP Rs 2400/- for bringing it on par with head constable of Goa police,” he said.
