Nagaland native held with drugs

CALANGUTE: The Calangute police seized drugs from a Nagaland native during a narcotic raid conducted in the wee hours of Thursday morning near Bandodkar statue at Umtawaddo, Calangute.
In the continuing drive against narcotic drugs, the Calangute Police arrested Basan Lama. The accused was caught by LPSI Pragati Malik and was assisted by police constables, Shasank Shakalkar, Dinesh Morajkar and Vinod Kerkar.
Lama was found in possession of 38 grams of ganja worth Rs 3,800 which was seized from his possession.
An offence has been registered against him under section 20(b)(ii) of the NDPS Act, 1985. The accused was produced before JMFC at Mapusa who remanded him in judicial custody for 14 days.
PSI Laxi Amonkar is conducting investigation in this case under the guidance of PI Nolasco Raposo and DySP Edwin Colaco.
