This seventy year old, who was stripped naked and beaten up mercilessly in broad day light in March last year hopes to see that her accused – suspended constable Amjad Karol is convicted. But the case, chargesheeted in July 2014 before a local court, is still on trial.
The shameful incident against the elderly lady on March 23, 2014 had left the police force red-faced. The higher ups took no time to suspend the accused policeman and place him under arrest. With none of her family members willing to take up responsibility even at the time she was admitted to Goa Medical College for 25 long days, the Mother Teresa old age home Missionaries of Charity came to her rescue. Women’s NGO Bailancho Saad admitted her to the charity home where she continues to stay. However, it is now left to be seen when the trial stage ends and the court pronounces a
verdict.
