PERNEM: The Shiv Sena, Goa unit has demanded that the Mopa Greenfield Airport be named after Independent Goa’s first Chief Minister late Dayanand Bandodkar.
On Bandodkar’s death anniversary on Thursday, the Shiv Sainiks led by Subhash Kerkar erected a board over the entrance of the proposed Mopa airport proclaiming that it should be named after late Bhausaheb Bandodkar. Later, they paid tribute to him.
Speaking on the occasion, Kerkar said, “Dayanand Bandodkar commonly known as Bhausaheb Bandodkkar was a Bahujan stalwart, who laid the foundation stone for modern Goa. Goa’s political, economical and educational infrastructure was built by Bandodkar, a visionary leader who endeavoured to provide justice to Kul Mundkars.”
