PANJIM: Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat has urged Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to have the nomenclatures of reserved seats as “persons with disabilities” (PwD) instead of handicapped.
In a letter to Chief Minister, Kamat has also requested to ensure easy accessibility to PwD at various public places.
“It has been brought to my notice that various public places have their nomenclature of reserved seats/ areas as handicapped. The nomenclature needs to be changed to PwD and uniformity should be maintained,” he said.
“It is also observed that various government departments and other institutions are not made accessible to PwD. Necessary arrangements needs to be made at various public places to provide easy access to PwD,” Kamat added.
