Minister for Women and Child Development Vishwajit Rane said that about 15,000 to 20,000 names of the Griha Aadhaar beneficiaries have been deleted from the beneficiary list after they were found to be of dubious nature.
“This deletion has paved way for similar number of new cases to be included in the scheme. We will soon begin to release funds for the pending applications, which will be cleared after going through the due processes. It will start from next month or so,” the minister said, while adding that new forms will be printed for fresh applicants.
He was replying to a starred question tabled by MLA Isidore Fernandes on Friday. Rane informed the House that the ceiling cap limit for sanctioning of applications was fixed to 1.52 lakh and that once that cap limit was achieved; an ‘Impact Assessment Survey’ of the scheme was conducted during which a no of ineligible cases were identified and benefits were stopped. Further, after verifying all the new pending applications, the genuine cases identified will shall be sanctioned under the scheme to fill the cap limit.
