CALANGUTE: In a fortunate turn of events, a potentially serious accident was averted on the Mapusa-Siolim Housing Board road when a driver dozed off while driving. Both the driver and his daughter, who was also in the vehicle, managed to escape unharmed. The car was, however, slightly damaged.
Eyewitness stated that the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing the vehicle to land into the bushes, along the housing board road. Local authorities and people rushed to the scene and rescued the duo.
The driver told O Heraldo that he had gone to the airport to pick up his brother around 3 am and then dropped him to Korgao. On his way back, he dozed off while returning to housing board. The time was about 5am. The father and the 15-year-old daughter are both residents of housing board Mapusa.
