CANACONA: Kabaddi players from Mormugao, who were travelling to the Lokosthav-2013 at Adarsh Gram in Amone-Poinguinim had a narrow escape, when the vehicle they were travelling in turned turtle near Hathipal at the Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary on Saturday morning.
All the occupants, including the driver, escaped with only minor bruises in the mishap, informed sources.
According to reports, the jeep (GA-06-D-3517) was negotiating a slight turn along a narrow internal road, some metres away from the forest gate at Hathipal, when it went off the road, and took a full somersault before resting on its top.
All the Kabaddi players and the driver managed to get out of the vehicle and the players proceeded in a different vehicle to the Lokosthav, where they later participated in the All Goa Kabaddi competition at Mushifond-Amone.
Two youth who were near the vehicle claimed the mishap had taken place due to brake failure.
