Narrow escape for passengers as inter-State bus falls on its side at Agasaim

PANJIM: A Bengaluru-Panjim bound bus fell on its side near the new the Zuari bridge towards the Agasaim side on early Thursday morning after the driver lost control over the speeding vehicle and collided against a road divider. 

There were over 20 passengers in the bus and most of them sustained injuries. They were later referred to the Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Bambolim for treatment.

According to the police, the driver K Varadarajulu, 43, from Bengaluru drove the bus in a rash and negligent manner and collided against a road divider and titled on the left side thereby causing injuries to the passengers.

The Agasaim police conducted the panchanama and registered a case against the bus driver under sections 279, 337 and 338 of the IPC. Head constable Uday Palkar is conducting further investigations.
