Nat Games: Govt floats tender for selecting hotel aggregators

PANJIM: Ahead of the 36th National Games slated to begin from March-end, the Tourism Department has floated a tender for selection of hotel aggregator(s) to arrange hotel accommodation and ancillary services to thousands of sportspersons.
Acting Director Sanjiv Gadkar, on behalf of the National Games Organising Committee has invited Request for Proposal (RFP) via e-tendering mode only with the last date for submitting online tender form fixed on January 17, 2019.    
An official said that the date for opening of Technical Bids is fixed January 19, which would be followed by the next step of selecting the bidder.
The Games are scheduled from March 30 to April 14, 2019 during which a total of 37 events and 35 games with beach handball and beach volleyball as extra events will be held. Wushu, rugby, modern pentathlon, lawn ball, billiards and snooker are the newly included games. Two events – shooting and cycling – will be held in New Delhi.
On the expenditure front, the Sports Department had recently informed the media that the budget for the Games is around Rs 400 crore which includes players’ accommodation, training of state teams, food and transport, ceremonies, medical aid, etc. For the accommodation, the Tourism Department has been tasked with ensuring the sports persons’ stay.
