The ongoing 37th National Games in Goa has been a spectacular showcase of talent, dedication, and sportsmanship. As the event progresses, Goa’s Sports Minister, Govind Gaude, addressed an important concern about the future of medal-winning athletes. While Gaude clarified that he cannot guarantee immediate government jobs to National Games medalists, he highlighted the government’s commitment to addressing their employment needs.
Gaude underlined the significance of recognizing the talent and calibre of the participating athletes when it comes to allocating government jobs. He stated, “There is no doubt we have already promised government jobs for medal winners at the Olympic Games and world championship, but I can’t assure direct government jobs to National Games winners. However, there will be a quota made available. The government will decide on this.”
The 37th National Games have garnered widespread attention, with a staggering 10,147 athletes participating in the event, turning it into a grand sporting spectacle.
This assurance of job reservation reflects the government’s commitment to supporting and encouraging the athletes who have showcased their exceptional skills at the National Games.
