CANACONA: In an accident on Wednesday evening at Karmalghat between a container truck and a sand laden tipper truck left both the vehicles badly damaged. However, the drivers and cleaners of both the trucks luckily escaped with minor injuries and bruises.
The container truck proceeding towards Margao while negotiating a sharp turn on Karmalghat at Canacona strayed in the wrong lane leaving no chance for the oncoming sand laden tipper truck.
Eventually, the tipper truck rammed in to the right side of the container truck. The traffic on both side of the road was blocked for over an hour and about 200 vehicles had to bear the inconvenience on either side till both the trucks were taken aside and road cleared for traffic with the help of a JCB.
