VASCO: Jan Shikshan Sansthan Goa observed “National Unity Day” in order to commemorate the 146th Birth Anniversary of Iron Man of India Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, at Shree Rashtroli Jai Santoshi Mata Temple Hall, here, on Sunday.

Retired teacher of Regina Mundi High School Chicalim Manoj Halarnekar was the chief guest. Other dignitaries present on the dais were, Councillor of Mormugao Municipal Council Sudesh Bhosle, BJP Dabolim Mandal President Sandeep Sood, Director of Jan Shikshan Sansthan Goa Shrihari Athalye, Board of Management Kalpana Harmalkar, Programme Officer Ninad Velguenkar, Resource Person Namita Patil, BJP Dabolim Mahila Morcha Vice-President Kalpana Rane, Vishanka Volvoikar, Akanksha Shetkar and others.
Speaking on the occasion, Halarnekar emphasised on the people to maintain unity to make our State and country, a super power in the world. He also stressed that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was a true patriot and was one of the fathers of Indian’s Independence.
Director of Jan Shikshan Sansthan Goa Shrihari Athalye highlighted that Jan Shikshan has taken up the initiative to recognise the contribution of national heroes, who have played a key role in Independence movement, to celebrate their birth anniversaries and as such till date despite of COVID-19 pandemic situation the organisation has organised 60 such programmes through online and offline modes.
Sudesh Bhosle and Sandeep Sood also spoke.
