VASCO: A Naval employee identified as Rutul Chutia, 34, a native of Assam, lost his life in a self-accident near Varunapuri Junction on Friday night. The accident occurred around 11 pm when Chutia, heading home to the Varunapuri Naval quarters, collided with a truck parked along the highway. Despite swift responses from Goa police and Naval police, Chutia succumbed to his injuries on the spot.
Chutia’s family, including his wife and two children, resides at Varunapuri Naval quarters.
The accident took place as he was traveling from the Airport side towards Varunapuri junction on the highway.
Vasco police conducted an inquest panchanama at the site, and Chutia was later shifted to Chicalim hospital, where he was declared brought dead. After a post-mortem on Saturday, the body was handed over to the grieving family.
