Navelim library road in bad shape

MARGAO: Much to the dismay of school and college students as well as the general public, the road in front of the Central Library in Navelim is still in a bad shape. The road is yet to be tarred and people visiting the library have to face great difficulty.

Furthermore the road from Navelim Church to Rawanfond junction is still not completed and a lot of patchwork can be seen.
Residents have complained that the present situation is extremely dangerous for two wheelers especially mothers going to drop their children to school.
“Pedestrians which includes students, senior citizens mostly elderly women have to walk through the still murky road. During dry spell, movement of heavy vehicles creates dust clouds,” added a Navelim resident.
It may be recalled that the slow pace of works on the blocked Rawanfond to Navelim road due to heavy digging had irked Navelim residents who had complained that this was a crucial road and had led to massive traffic congestion near the church.
Commuters have been using the side mud road to go to Aquem or proceed to Navelim and have complained of having to face great difficulty.
Navelim Civic and Consumer Forum secretary had raised the issue at a meeting held with the Deputy Collector Ajit Panchwadkar where he pointed out that the deadline for the completion of work was May 30, and had appealed that the roads be completed before the reopening of schools.
