MARGAO: Several agitated Navelim locals along with 25-year-old Edwin Coelho’s family and friends gheraoed the Margao Police Station demanding that an FIR be registered against PSI Stanley Gomes for allegedly assaulting Edwin.
The victim alleged that on November 23, around midnight, PSI assaulted him within the precinct of the Margao Police Station by slapping him on his face resulting in bleeding from the ear, hearing loss and rupturing of the ear drum.
Adv Seoula Vas said an FIR ought to be registered for offences of criminal intimidation, using criminal force, causing grievous hurt and assault without provocation. The medical report proves grievous hurt which carries a punishment of seven years imprisonment.
