NAVELIM: Navelim residents on Saturday morning were once again severely inconvenienced by a sudden “unannounced” shutdown in the water supply due to the pipeline breakdown.
When contacted, PWD Assistant Engineer (AE) Premakant Rane said, “The main 200 mm old AC pipeline burst near the Bank of Baroda behind Our Lady of Rosary Church, Navelim and the restoration work is in progress.”
However, another PWD official Truptesh Sirsat claimed that “the line had tripped with the repair works presently in progress.”
Incidentally, exactly a fortnight ago on February 6, the main pipeline had burst near the old society office near Our Lady of Rosary cemetery around 10 am due to the excessive load on the old rusted pipes.
