MARGAO: Navelim MLA Luizinho Faleiro handed over Rs one lakh compensation sanction letter to the father of the deceased boy Deepak Mukesh Khatri, who died due to drowning in the river, at Benduxem Dongorim, Navelim on July 15, 2019, at his Navelim office, on Monday.
The compensation amount is sanctioned under the Disaster Management Fund Scheme of the Government of Goa.
While consoling the father of late Deepak, Faleiro expressed immense grief over the tragic incident and recalled that it was equally shocking and unbearable for himself that the young lad got swept away in the flooded river.
